architectural
styles
Your ideal remodeling plans will reflect many things
about you, but the exterior design will most likely
derive from one of the two basic realms of architecture:
Traditional and Modern/Contemporary. Either way, current
architectural trends borrow from our rich design history
to create attractive, comfortable homes appropriate to
their respective landscape and community, which also
blend our region’s older constructions with newer ones.

traditional
Most
classic architectural styles fall under the heading,
Traditional design. From the ever-popular Colonial style
with some added Neo-Classic detail to elegant Victorian,
Gothic and Tudor adaptations, traditional architecture
brings symmetry, warmth and a sense of comfort to the
exterior of a structure while allowing for flexible,
spacious, updated interiors.

Defined
by clean lines and an absence of decorative detail,
modern or contemporary architecture includes the
International Style, Art Moderne and Streamlined Moderne.
Art Deco design is glamorous and dynamic, with linear
and angular symmetry and, unlike the other contemporary
styles, boasts great decorative detail. Re-emerging as
the next major design trend, modern interiors are
typically open, flowing and feature the innovative use
of glass, metal, local timber and other innovative
materials, often reclaimed or recycled.
